Public Lights Woodland Park, Rush

OMHAIRLE CONTAE FHINE GALL

FINGAL COUNTY COUNCIL

BALBRIGGAN/SWORDS AREA COMMITTEE MEETING

[Services A – Operational Matters]

Thursday, 13th December 2018

ITEM NO. 11

Question: Councillor B. Dennehy

"To ask the Chief Executive to arrange a meeting with the Council Officials and

the Residents of Woodland Park, Rush in order to address the over growing of

the trees up onto the Public lights in the Park."

Reply:

The Operations Department scheduled works two years ago to remove street

trees beside light standards in Woodland Park Rush. At that time the residents of

the estate prevented this work from being carried out and it was decided to

allocate the crews to essential works in other estates. Since these works were

prevented approximately 20 trees were planted on the open spaces within the

estate. These newly planted trees are to replace what will be removed in the

future in line with our adopted tree strategy. It is our intention to return to

Woodland Park when residents are more supportive of the scheduled works.
