About

Welcome to my Website.

My name is Brian Dennehy I was elected as a first-time candidate for Fianna Fail in 2014 to represent the Balbriggan Ward.

I work hard to provide active representation and articulate any local issues I am approached about locally alongside working with my Oireachtas colleagues to bring forward any national issues brought to my attention.

I can be contacted at phone number 085 – 2298201 or Email at Briandennehyff@gmail.com

Originally from Cork I have lived in Rush for over 20 years with my wife Anita Bollard and two teenage sons.

A former Lord Mayor of Cork City my father John was elected as a TD to Dail Eireann on three occasions along with being a Councillor for 30 years on Cork City Council. My brother Fergal is currently a Councillor on Cork City Council. With that background, It is only natural that the desire to promote and get involved in giving public service back to the community I now live and work in is an ambition of mine as it reflects the influences I grew up with.

Why I do this

I am a big fan of sport and the good positive attributes it brings to our community at large. I am currently and have been both the PRO and member of the Executive of St. Maurs GAA club for several years along with supporting and managing underage teams in Rush Athletic. I am currently treasurer of the Rush and Loughshinny Combined Clubs which is responsible for the (CE) Community employment scheme which covers the towns of Rush, Lusk, Loughshinny and Naul. I am currently Chairman of the Balleally liason committee which is overseeing the building of Rogerstown Park. I am also a member of the committee of the North Dublin Regional Drug & Alcohol Task Force.
I am and have always been an enthusiastic volunteer in the wider community and other organisations I support and work with include Rush Tidy Towns, Lusk Tidy Towns, Clean Coasts clean-up drives, North Fingal Rural Transport Programme and the Fingal Old IRA organisation amongst others.

What I can do for you

I am driven to ensure the community I live in gets the services and infrastructure it needs with the current and growing population numbers as well as the resources required to complement and support the growth be it in transport or policing support or the other many services required within the community. A portion of the large volume of work I have raised since being elected four years ago can be seen here on this website and many of the items thankfully can be put in the delivered or successful column while I still continue to pursue and promote the issues still to be completed.
