"To ask the Chief Executive to outline the progress on agreeing with the

Developer the proposed entrance / access from the Main Street, Rush into

the proposed commercial development on the Main Street Rush and what

is the timetable for commencement of the layout / works required to

construct / modify the existing road network in from of the proposed

commercial development?”

Reply:

There have been long and detailed discussions with the developer’s

engineers regarding the design of the entrance to the proposed

commercial development. The discussions have considered the necessity

for a short right-turn lane for traffic turning into the development and the

consequent changes to the car parking, bus stops, footpath, and

pedestrian crossing points. The developer’s engineers have been aware of

the Council’s requirements for some time but have yet to submit the final

drawings for compliance. The outstanding issues are matters of detailed

design and should be easily resolvable. The timetable for implementation

depends on the developer.
