COMHAIRLE CONTAE FHINE GALL

FINGAL COUNTY COUNCIL

BALBRIGGAN/SWORDS AREA COMMITTEE MEETING

[Services A – Operational Matters]

Thursday, 14th April 2016

ITEM NO. 24

Question: Councillor B. Dennehy:

“To ask the Chief Executive if he will have the litter bin removed from the Channel

Road, Rush reinstated as its removal has been a constant annoyance and nuisance

to residents and in particular dog walkers who use the route on a regular basis as

the old location for disposing of dog litter has been removed. Some alternative

locations to where the bin can be relocated on the Channel Road have already been

communicated to FCC previously?”

Reply:

The litter bin located on Channel Road Rush was removed at the request of the

residents of Channel Road, and relocated to an alternative location in Rush.

A commitment was given at the November 2015 Area Committee meeting that

consideration would be given to purchasing an additional bin in 2016 when the

budget allows, and this will be located with the agreement of residents. This

remains the case.
