BALBRIGGAN/SWORDS AREA COMMITTEE MEETING

THURSDAY 12th DECEMBER 2019
ITEM NO. 17
MAIN STREET, RUSH – DERELICT SITES
Councillor B. Dennehy - Derelict sites on the Main Street, Rush -
"To ask the Chief Executive to bring forward and progress any further
statutory measures to have the derelict sites on the Main Street, Rush
(Skerries corner) progressed as a development and in general cleaned
up from its unsightly current state?”
Reply:
As outlined in previous replies to the Balbriggan/Swords Area Committee
statutory notices to enter the site on the Derelict Sites register have
issued to the site owner under the Derelict Sites Act. A Section 22 Notice
issued on the 12th November 2019 with respect to the valuation of the site
which is a statutory requirement as enforcement advances to the next
stage under the Derelict Sites Act.
The local authority received a recent complaint with respect to damage to
the hoarding around part of the site. Contact was made with the site
owner under the Sanitary Services Act and repairs are now completed.
