DRUMANAGH, RUSH LIAISON COMMITTEE

COMHAIRLE CONTAE FHINE GALL

FINGAL COUNTY COUNCIL

BALBRIGGAN/SWORDS AREA COMMITTEE MEETING

(Services B – Strategic & General Matters)

THURSDAY 8TH MARCH, 2018

ITEM NO. 54

.

AI041823

Question Councillor B. Dennehy:

"To ask the Chief Executive to form a Liaison Committee similar in

make up to the Balleally Committee in order to have contributions

from the local community for the future works planned at the

Drumanagh site Rush?"

Reply:

The question refers to Drumanagh Promontory Fort near Loughshinny

which is an important archaeological site in the Council’s ownership. The

Council is at present in the process of formulating a Conservation and

Management Plan for the site. A public consultation process is now

underway and submissions are invited from the public in relation to the

Draft Management and Conservation Plan until Monday 12th March 2018.

The question of establishing a Liaison Committee is best considered as

part of the process of formulating a Conservation and Management Plan

for the site and will therefore be considered as part of this process.
