Hands Lane, Rush – Speed reduction measures

COMHAIRLE CONTAE FHINE GALL

FINGAL COUNTY COUNCIL

BALBRIGGAN/SWORDS AREA COMMITTEE MEETING

[Services A – Operational Matters]

Thursday, 12th November 2015

ITEM NO. 3

Question: Councillor B. Dennehy

"To ask the Chief Executive to include ramps or cushions on Hands Lane as speed

reduction measures in the works programme?”

Reply:

The placement of ramps along Hands Lane would prove difficult due to the close

proximity of entrances to each other, combined with a requirement to locate the

ramps near public lighting columns while maintaining a spacing of between 70-80m.

The provision of ramps along Hands Lane would not be considered a priority.

The placement of ‘slow’ paint markings will be given consideration in future signing

and lining programmes, at a time that matches the resurfacing programme for Hands

Lane.
