COMHAIRLE CONTAE FHINE GALL

FINGAL COUNTY COUNCIL

BALBRIGGAN/SWORDS AREA COMMITTEE MEETING

[Services A – Operational Matters]

Thursday, 9th April 2015

ITEM NO. 21

Question: Councillor B Dennehy

"To ask the Chief Executive to have the ditches on either side of the entrance of the

Whitestown Road exit cut back or instruct landowners to cut the growth back in

order to make the oncoming traffic more visible?"

Reply:

The exit from Healy’s Lane onto the Whitestown Road has restricted sightline

visibility due to the location of the existing private boundary hedging/ walls. The

hedging is currently maintained to an acceptable standard by the private landowner.

Sightline visibility improvements would require land acquisition at this location and

discussions are ongoing with the relevant parties concerned.
