COMHAIRLE CONTAE FHINE GALL
FINGAL COUNTY COUNCIL
BALBRIGGAN/SWORDS AREA COMMITTEE MEETING
[Services A – Operational Matters]
Thursday, 9th April 2015
ITEM NO. 27
Main Street Rush
Question: Councillor B Dennehy
“To ask the Chief Executive to allocate at least two bins for collection of dog litter to
the Main Street of Rush?”
Reply:
Members of the public are informed that they may dispose of dog litter in any public
bin, and that they do not have to look out for specific dog waste bins.
In that respect, the Council is no longer installing specific dog waste bins in general
public areas, but will continue to install them in parks.
The four Dublin Local Authorities over recent years have collaborated on a number of
dog-fouling awareness campaigns in an attempt to increase awareness of this
problem across the greater Dublin area.
