COMHAIRLE CONTAE FHINE GALL
FINGAL COUNTY COUNCIL
BALBRIGGAN/SWORDS AREA COMMITTEE MEETING
[Services A – Operational Matters]
Thursday, 12th January, 2017
ITEM NO. 47

Question: Councillor B. Dennehy
“To ask Chief Executive to give consideration to treat the acute bend on the
Ministers Road, Lusk between the Lusk Golf Centre and Round Towers GAA Club
with additional grip road surface in order to make the bend safe for passing
vehicular traffic in poor weather conditions?”
Reply:
The bend on the road between the Lusk Golf Centre and Round Towers GAA
Club has chevron signage visible to motorists approaching from both directions.
The provision of anti-skid surfacing is generally reserved for the approaches to
pedestrian crossings, stop lines, yield lines and signalised junctions.
The provision of anti-skid would not be considered for the bend on the road
between the Lusk Golf Centre and Round Towers GAA Club. Consideration will
be given to the placement of slow road markings on both approaches to the
bend as part of the 2017 signing and lining programme.
