ITEM NO. 57

New Tree Planting in Rush

Question: Councillor B. Dennehy

"To ask the Chief Executive to outline the tree planting programme for new trees

to replace the mature trees that were cut down in the Town of Rush in recent

weeks?”

Reply:

We have already planted a number of replacement trees in some of the estates

effected this year and we have been in discussion with a number of other

residents associations on locations that they would like planted. The rule of

replanting is always to replace in exact location if possible. If it’s not possible a

suitable nearby location is selected. The tree strategy does not permit replanting

within 7m of a light standard.
