Parking metres Main Street,Rush

COMHAIRLE CONTAE FHINE GALL

FINGAL COUNTY COUNCIL

BALBRIGGAN/SWORDS AREA COMMITTEE MEETING

[Services A – Operational Matters]

Thursday, 9th April 2015

ITEM NO. 29

Question: Councilllor B. Dennehy:

“To ask the Chief Executive for a report on the maintenance programme of the

parking metres on the Main Street, Rush as the metres from my own and

constituents observations are continually out of action and one machine at the

harbour side of the Skerries Road Junction currently has a message written on it on

how to get a ticket printed as it is currently faulty?”

Reply:

The meters in Rush are inspected a number of times a week and any faults are

reported to the maintenance contractor for repair. Recently there has been a

problem with batteries in some of the machines in Rush, this problem has now been

resolved. The button board on meter RU8 (at the harbour side of the Skerries Road

Junction) was faulty and has been replaced and the meter is now in working order.

Meters that are continually out of order will be included for consideration in the

Meter Replacement Programme. The meters in Rush will continue to be monitored

closely.
