COMHAIRLE CONTAE FHINE GALL
FINGAL COUNTY COUNCIL
BALBRIGGAN/SWORDS AREA COMMITTEE MEETING
[Services A – Operational Matters]
Thursday, 9th June, 2016
ITEM NO. 39
Question: Councillor B. Dennehy
"To ask the Chief Executive to provide details of the permits provided prior to the
launch of the Pay and Display Scheme on Clonard Street, Balbriggan and what
local arrangements are in place in respect of the nearby school and how
residents on the street may apply for a similar permit?"
Reply:
The Pay and Display Scheme was introduced in Balbriggan in 2006. At the time it
was deemed necessary to facilitate the parking needs of the local school. A fixed
arrangement was put in place to issue 10 special permits to St. Peter & Paul’s
National School.
All residents who live in a Pay & Display zone are entitled to apply for a resident’s
permit/visitors discs. This would include any resident living on Clonard Street. A
permit is €20 for 2 years. Visitors discs can be bought at cost of €12 for 10 discs.
(Max.50 discs per resident per year).
