Planting in the Town of Rush

COMHAIRLE CONTAE FHINE GALL

FINGAL COUNTY COUNCIL

BALBRIGGAN/SWORDS AREA COMMITTEE MEETING

[Services A – Operational Matters]

Thursday, 12th February 2015

ITEM NO.9

Question: Councillor B. Dennehy:

"To ask the Chief Executive what plans are in place for planting in the Town of Rush

for 2015?"

Reply:

Spring bulb planting was carried out at the entrance to Kenure Avenue and within

the woods at the end of 2014. These flowers should be visible very soon.

Following consultation with Rush Tidy Towns we have scheduled some specimen tree

and hedge planting within Kenure Woods. There is further tree planting planned

within St Catherines Estate following consultation with the local residents association.

We have included the provision of additional trees for St Catherines National School

for their ongoing school environmental projects. Hedge planting is also scheduled for

Tayleurs Point following requests from the residents association and finally some

open space tree planting is scheduled for Clifflands estate as a number of street

trees have been removed as part of our ongoing tree maintenance works.
