Public Benches Kenure Park

COMHAIRLE CONTAE FHINE GALL

FINGAL COUNTY COUNCIL

BALBRIGGAN/SWORDS AREA COMMITTEE MEETING

[Services A – Operational Matters]

Thursday, 14th December, 2017

ITEM NO. 23

Question: Councillor B. Dennehy

”To ask the Chief Executive to include the provision of at least one if not two park

benches close to the two entrances at either end of Kenure Park Rush in any

future budgets in order for to increase the enjoyment of the park for residents

and in particular our senior citizens?”

Reply:

The Operations team supports the provision of seating within public parks,

where appropriate. While it is recognised that seating is a valuable addition for

genuine park users, unfortunately, it also encourages after hours anti-social

activity. As part of the 2018 special works programme, consideration will be

given to providing two seats at either end of the upgraded Kenure Woods Park,

that will be installed on a 6 month trial basis.
