Question:
“To ask the Chief Executive, subsequent to the presentation before the
December area meeting as noted previously to the area meeting, and after the
already outline time of the public display of proposed plans, to indicate the
envisaged timeline of commencing construction works to refurbish the rush
Multipurpose Youth Facility?”
Reply:
Further to the reply to the November Area Committee additional amendments
to the original plans were requested by other Council Departments in relation to
the public realm and infrastructure elements of the project, outside of the
building itself. These amendments require modifications to the plans and this
has delayed bringing them to the Area Committee this month. It is
now intended to bring the Part 8 Planning to the Area Committee meeting in
February 2019 and once approved the plans will go on public display.
Funding to support the refurbishment of the building has been ring fenced in
the Capital Programme.
