Question: Councillor B. Dennehy -
“To ask the Chief Executive to outline what repair and improvement works have
been carried out in the vicinity of Rush Harbour and outline what works are
planned to be carried out in the future?”
Reply:
The Operations Department engaged the services of a stone restoration
specialist who lifted sections of the existing stone surface at Rush Harbour which
were then reset in lime mortar with smaller joints in order to restore the
structural integrity of the Harbour. In addition sections of stone that had broken
away from the Harbour were also restored to their original position. The
Harbour has now been restored to a high standard. Fingal County Council will
continuously monitor and review the condition of the Harbour and will and carry
out any necessary repair and maintenance works as required.
