Rush Harbour – Access surface

COMHAIRLE CONTAE FHINE GALL

FINGAL COUNTY COUNCIL

BALBRIGGAN/SWORDS AREA COMMITTEE MEETING

[Services A – Operational Matters]

Thursday, 12th November 2015

ITEM NO. 7

Question: Councillor B. Dennehy

"To ask the Chief Executive to outline any current plans to protect, enhance and

preserve the access surface of Rush Harbour?"

Reply:

The Operations Department has consulted with the Council’s Conservation Officer,

and following discussions, proposals were agreed for remedial measures to the pier

surface of Rush Harbour.

Initially, trial works will be carried out on a small test area in order to assess the

extent and effectiveness of the remedial measures recommended. On completion of

these trial works, the Conservation Officer and Operations team will carry out an

assessment of the trial, and this will direct and inform with regard to going forward

with the remedial measures.

During this period it is not envisaged that other works will take place apart from

ongoing essential maintenance works which will be carried out in consultation with

the Conservation Officer.
