Question: Councillor B. Dennehy:
“To ask the Chief Executive to examine and recommend solutions to the additional danger created to motorist
and pedestrians exiting the Entrance to the Rush side of the Rush / Lusk train station due to improvements of the
new bridge which has traffic passing the entrance at increased speeds as the danger of the narrow bridge has
now been removed?”
Reply:
The entrance to the train station has been examined and advanced directional signs advising of the train station
entrance as well as speed reduction warning signs will be provided at this location. The Operations Department
require the agreement of a local landowner prior to the mobilisation of the signage contractor on site.
It should also be noted that the 2014 Speed Limit Bye-Laws, adopted by the Full Council on Monday 8th
December 2014, sets a 60km/h special speed limit at on the R128 Lusk-Rush Road.
