Rush Pier
Question: Councillor B. Dennehy
"To ask the Chief Executive to install removable lockable bollards on Rush Pier to
restrict the access by motor vehicles to the pier to the users who require access as
part of their business requirements?”
Reply:
Parking on harbours by persons other than fishermen is frequently reported as an
issue. However access barriers, locks etc. have been removed in the past by
fishermen due to the inconvenience of getting on and off the harbour. Barriers have
not proved to be effective in the past at addressing this problem.
A meeting with the 2 fishermen using the harbour is considered the most appropriate
way to progress this matter.
