"To ask the Chief Executive to ensure that Lower Main Street, the Harbour area,
the hill on Quay Road and Tower road (the right-angled bend particularly) gets
included in the Fingal County Council salting and gritting programme of routes?”
Reply:
The locations referred to in the question have not been included in the Winter
Salting Programme as there is no spare capacity on the existing salting routes for
inclusion and also, they are not considered to fulfil the qualifying criteria.
It should be noted that there are limited resources for the salting of roads in the
Fingal Area and the roads to be salted are selected using a number of criteria
which include: road links to Dublin Airport, bus routes, regional road network
and priority routes within urban areas.
