Speed Restrictions St. Maurs Park Rush

COMHAIRLE CONTAE FHINE GALL

FINGAL COUNTY COUNCIL

BALBRIGGAN/SWORDS AREA COMMITTEE MEETING

[Services A – Operational Matters]

Thursday, 10th November, 2016

ITEM NO. 57

Question: Councillor B. Dennehy

"To ask the Chief Executive to carry out speed restriction measures from Kenure

Park/St Maurs Park Junction leading to Rush Nursing Home in order to reduce

the safety and nuisance factor presented to local residents on a daily basis?"

Reply:

Traffic-calming ramps are typically installed on the main access roads into large

residential estates and particularly on residential roads which are used as ‘ratruns’.

Their purpose is to deter unnecessary traffic from outside of the particular

residential area.

The route from Kenure Park/St Maurs Park junction to the Rush nursing home is

a housing estate road not suitable for the installation of ramps.
