TAKING IN CHARGE – DOOROGE, ESTATE, BALLYBOUGHAL

COMHAIRLE CONTAE FHINE GALL

FINGAL COUNTY COUNCIL

BALBRIGGAN/SWORDS AREA COMMITTEE MEETING

(Services B – Strategic & General Matters)

THURSDAY 11th APRIL 2019

ITEM NO. 43

Question: Councillor B. Dennehy - Taken in Charge of Dooroge Estate,

Ballyboughal.

"To ask the Chief Executive to outline the timelines and actions

planned to take place that will see Dooroge Wood Estate, Ballyboughal

be taken in charge by Fingal County Council, where the sewage system

and other services in the estate are taken over and aided by the

plebiscite previously submitted?"

Reply:

A plebiscite for Doorogue Woods was just submitted in March.

With the exception of water services infrastructure Doorogue Woods is

completed to an acceptable standard except for a couple of minor items

which can be addressed.

However, it has a temporary pumping station which was planned to be

removed when the development connected by gravity to the foul sewer

system. The Developer has recently attempted to negotiate with the

adjacent land owner and at this time it is cost prohibitive for him to install

the gravity main.

Irish Water is currently engaging to resolve these significant outstanding

issues with the services.
