COMHAIRLE CONTAE FHINE GALL

FINGAL COUNTY COUNCIL

BALBRIGGAN/SWORDS AREA COMMITTEE MEETING

(Services B – Strategic & General Matters)

THURSDAY 14TH FEBRUARY 2019

ITEM NO. 51

Question: Councillor B. Dennehy

“To ask the Chief Executive what measures are occurring or are

available to the Residents of the Orchard Estate, Oldtown to be taken

in charge?”

Reply:

The roads, footpaths, services and grass verges of the Orchard Estate in

Oldtown were taken in charge in October 2014.

The company which owns the open space at this location is dissolved and

the assets have been vested in the Minister for Finance. The Council has

applied to acquire the land under Deed of Waiver and is liaising with the

Office of Public Works and the Chief State Solicitors Office in this regard.
