TAKING IN CHARGE – GOLDENRIDGE ESTATE, RUSH

COMHAIRLE CONTAE FHINE GALL

FINGAL COUNTY COUNCIL

BALBRIGGAN/SWORDS AREA COMMITTEE MEETING

(Services B – Strategic & General Matters)

THURSDAY 10TH JANUARY 2019

ITEM NO. 45

TAKING IN CHARGE – GOLDENRIDGE ESTATE, RUSH

Motion: Councillor B. Dennehy

"This committee calls upon the Chief Executive to provide an update

report on the progress of achieving the request to take in charge

previously submitted by the developer of Golden Ridge Estate, Rush

bearing in mind the regular issues raised from the estate such as

rubbish piled up at Golden Ridge Close, several public lights out of

action in Golden Ridge Walk and Golden Ridge Square and the

delivery of six acres of green space north of St Catherines Rush."

Report:

The Developer is still working with the Built Environment Inspectorate to

rectify all outstanding works that have been highlighted to them and they

have completed most of the works. The Council will re-survey the public

lighting and send an updated list to the Developer. The CCTV survey was

carried out and pipe network repairs carried out. A report of these works

was submitted to the Council for their review. Minor items still need to be

completed.

Completion of the Taking in Charge process will be subject to Irish water

approval to take the watermains and foul drainage systems in charge. The

temporary sewage tanks and ancillary systems must be removed

from the development site prior to the Golden Ridge development

being taken in charge.

Efforts are underway with the Developer to address the outstanding

planning requirements for the delivery of 6 acres of green space north of

St. Catherine’s Rush, however, the delivery of outstanding open space is

not yet complete.
