"This Area Committee calls on the Chief Executive to reinstate the
Rush Liaison Committee which was a very successful conduit for the
town of Rush prior to when it ceased meeting in 2012. The resulting
loss of the Liaison Committee has been highlighted in recent times
when compared against the success stories emanating from the
successful and hardworking Balbriggan, Donabate and Skerries Liaison
Committees”
Report:
A review of Local Government structures is underway at national level
as part of a commitment given in Partnership Government. This
process has already produced a report on the Municipal Districts
structures outside of the Dublin region and a report on structures
within the Dublin region is imminent. It is considered premature to
pursue the establishment of any new structures until such time as the
report on Dublin Local Government structures has been published
and Government decisions on any recommendations arising are
made.
The reinstatement of the Rush Liaison Committee will be considered in
the context of the foregoing.
