COMHAIRLE CONTAE FHINE GALL

FINGAL COUNTY COUNCIL

BALBRIGGAN/SWORDS AREA COMMITTEE MEETING

(Services B – Strategic & General Matters)

WEDNESDAY 11TH APRIL, 2018

ITEM NO. 47

AI041894

Question Councillor B. Dennehy

"To ask the Chief Executive to bring forward proposals to construct a new

access road from the R132 onto the M1 after the Turvey Avenue junction

and before the Lissenhall dual carraige way road heading southwards that

will serve the growing populations of Skerries, Rush, Lusk and Donabate?"

Reply:

Any provision of a new access road from the R132 onto the M1 is a matter

for Transport Infrastructure Ireland. We are not aware that they have any

current plans in this regard. Likewise, Fingal County Council are not

advancing this proposal at present as it is not listed as an objective within

the County Development Plan. The County Development Plan does show

as an objective, however, the Swords Western Bypass crossing the M1 in

this vicinity, the provision of which may alleviate some congestion at this

location for traffic travelling to Swords and southwest Fingal.
